By far the best place to really learn about wine is to go to wine country. We are taking our beverage managers to Oregon to see the process first hand. The approach will be from vine to glass. What equipment is used?What varietal is planted here and why? What is organic farming and how is it different from biodynamic farming? These are the types of topics that will guide our discussions and our managers will be better prepared to engage our guests about the wonderful world of wine upon our return. We'll take photos of our trip to share with you soon.

Last week, 80 of our senior leaders came together for our first ever CMR Community Care Day. Part of our group visited Medina Middle School to landscape their courtyard and to paint and decorate their hallway display cases. We enjoyed spending time with Principal Tinker and her students and we look forward to visiting them again. The rest of our team visited the Highland Community Gardens and helped weed the garden and build a compost bin. We also began the foundation for raised beds in the children's garden. At CMR, we believe in the growth of our associates and our community - our Community Care Day showed that Hope lives everywhere. Enjoy the photos below from our CMR Community Care Day."

We are excited to introduce 4 new fresh, handcrafted cocktails to our award-winning menu: the Black Orchid; Pear Grapefruit Fizz; Oxygen and our Tequila Cocktail.  For those of you who like to entertain at home, here is a recipe for our Pear Grapefruit Fizz.  There is some prep work involved; however this cocktail comes together easily and will delight your guests.

Pear Grapefruit Fizz at Ocean Prime
Served in a highball glass and garnished with a pear slice.
 
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Asian Pear Infused Finlandia Grapefruit
.5 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
.25 oz Cinnamon Syrup
Fill with Izze Grapefruit Soda
 
Special Ingredient Instructions:
 
Asian Pear Infused Finlandia Grapefruit
1 750 ml Finlandia Grapefruit
1 Large Asian Pear, Diced
Add diced pear to Finlandia bottle. Shake well.  Infuse to taste for 24-48 hours.  When desired taste is acquired, strain off the pear, and re-bottle.
 
Cinnamon Syrup
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cups simple syrup
Simmer the cinnamon sticks and simple syrup together on the stove until you pull some of the color out of the cinnamon sticks.
 
Preparation:
1 - Build all ingredients in glassware.
2 - Stir well with a bar spoon.
3 - Garnish and serve. Enjoy!
